Gorgeous Girls In Supply Chain: Sidney Trychel

Welcome to our series celebrating the incredible women in Supply Chain and Logistics! In a traditionally male-dominated field, it's important to shine a light on the inspiring women who are making a significant impact. Through a mix of insightful and fun questions, we’ll explore their journeys, challenges, and successes. While we acknowledge the contributions of everyone in this industry, this series aims to elevate the voices and stories of women who often get missed. Sidney Trychel is our next feature.

SIDNEY TRYCHEL

From the moment Sidney hit my feed, I found her energy to be infectious. She brings optimism, grit, and a no-excuses attitude to every day, and it shows. With a track record of leading high-performing sales teams at Coyote Logistics and Flock Freight, she’s now shaping growth and revenue at AVRL with the same passion and purpose. She definitely thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and knows that genuine relationships, not just numbers, are what close deals and create lasting impact.

Outside of work, Sidney is just as intentional with her time and energy: she swears by 5:30am gym sessions, green juice, and long walks with her dog Dale. She’s sharp, genuine, and exactly the kind of energy this industry needs more of.

  1. What is your current role and company?

    • Growth and Revenue at AVRL

  2. How did you end up in the world of supply chain?

    • I grew up in the Midwest and always had dreams of moving to a big city. Coyote logistics visited my college and offered paid sales internships in Chicago! I didn't know or care what logistics was, I just wanted to get out of Ohio. I not only fell in love with Chicago but also the chaos and always on the go feel of logistics.

  3. What is your favourite part of your work day?

    • Strategizing with my team on how to push deals forward and learning new selling tactics and putting them to the test. AVRL is a very collaborative company, we work as a unit to get things done.

  4. What is the least favourite part of your work day?

    • Cold calling, but it HAS to be done daily. As a sales rep, your prime real estate is your calendar and keeping it full with legitimate meetings is your job.

  5. What is a systemic issue in your part of the supply chain that concerns you currently?

    • Dirty data

  6. How would you address it if you had the power, money, or influence?

    • Companies need to do their research and challenge anything that feels off.

  7. What is one piece of advice you have for young women entering your field?

    • Most importantly, be YOU! Network as much as you can, build your own support system, and find a mentor/mentors that can help guide you through your career and believe in you. I have met some of my closest friends in this industry and it's those people who help push you to new levels.

  8. What are your top 3 podcasts? (do not have to be industry related)

  9. Who are your top 5 women in supply chain to follow on LinkedIn?

  10. How do you deal with creeps you encounter in your work day?

    • I take my job very serious and anyone who meets me gets that vibe. Carry yourself in a way that doesn't allow this to be an option. And if for any reason it does happen, shut it down immediately.

  11. What is your favourite way to unwind?

    • Walks with Dale, dinner with my family or friends, the gym.

  12. What have you recently changed your mind about?

    • As a sales rep, you don't always have to say yes. Sometimes it's better to protect you and your companies reputation than it is to get a deal over the line that feels off.

  13. Must haves to get you thru the day?

    • 530am gym sessions(I am a monster if I don't do this)

    • coffee

    • 2-3 walks during work hours with Dale

    • debriefs with my co-workers

    • pressed green juice!
